Eligibility
Who is eligible to apply for funding?
We welcome applications from the following:
Not-For-Profit organisations (e.g., local community groups)
Individuals
Charities
Voluntary groups
Social enterprises
Applicants should aim to positively impact their community, people, or the environment.
Applicants should be grassroots, by which we mean people/organisations at the local level starting and driving something themselves.
Applicants are not required to be a registered UK charity. However, a bank account in the organisation’s name, like a community bank account, is necessary for successful funding. In certain instances, funding may be considered for personal bank accounts, subject to assessment on a case-by-case basis.
Who is not eligible to apply for funding?
Projects not registered or actively operating in the BN postcode area.
Projects with a turnover of more than £500,000.
Projects promoting political activities or movements (although lobbying on behalf of your beneficiaries is permitted).
Projects promoting religion (although faith-based organisations are welcome to apply if their project does not emphasise religious promotion).
For-profit organisations or initiatives.
Multi-year funding partners are not eligible to apply for our Community Grant.
