Eligibility

Who is eligible to apply for funding?

We welcome applications from the following:

  • Not-For-Profit organisations (e.g., local community groups)

  • Individuals

  • Charities

  • Voluntary groups

  • Social enterprises

Applicants should aim to positively impact their community, people, or the environment.

Applicants should be grassroots, by which we mean people/organisations at the local level starting and driving something themselves.

Applicants are not required to be a registered UK charity. However, a bank account in the organisation’s name, like a community bank account, is necessary for successful funding. In certain instances, funding may be considered for personal bank accounts, subject to assessment on a case-by-case basis.

Who is not eligible to apply for funding?

  • Projects not registered or actively operating in the BN postcode area.

  • Projects with a turnover of more than £500,000.

  • Projects promoting political activities or movements (although lobbying on behalf of your beneficiaries is permitted).

  • Projects promoting religion (although faith-based organisations are welcome to apply if their project does not emphasise religious promotion).

  • For-profit organisations or initiatives.

  • Multi-year funding partners are not eligible to apply for our Community Grant.
