Guidelines
Funding themes and project requirements
As an independent grant-making foundation in East Sussex, we champion community projects and social enterprises within the BN postcode area. We provide support to empower those committed to positive change in social and environmental wellbeing.
Our Annual Community Grant programme welcomes and supports organisations and individuals who are committed to making a difference.
We only consider applicants with a turnover of less than £500,000 per year.
We’re happy to consider applications for a range of needs, including salaries, core costs, and funding for new projects. We understand how important these elements are to keeping your organisation running smoothly and delivering great work in your communities.
Every project we support must contribute to the collective wellbeing of the environment and/or society, ensuring prosperity for both people and the planet.
We strongly recommend that projects applying, align with one or more of our specified themes (set out below), with a particular emphasis on supporting local initiatives:
Health and Wellbeing
Investing in healthcare solutions, preventive measures, and wellness programs that enhance the overall health and wellbeing of diverse populations, ensuring a robust and resilient society.
Innovation and Inclusion
Backing initiatives that promote social justice, equity and inclusion, striving to build a society where every individual has the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the collective progress.
Educational Empowerment
Enabling access to quality education, promoting lifelong learning and fostering skills and development to empower individuals and communities for a brighter future.
Environmental Stewardship
Supporting projects that champion conservation, sustainable practices and ecological restoration, contributing to the preservation and regeneration of our planet’s natural resources.
Arts and Culture
Nurturing creativity, preserving heritage, and fostering cultural exchange to enrich societies, promote diversity, and strengthen the fabric of communities.
