The Museum of Life

Brighton People’s Theatre The Museum of Life

Come on a ‘tour’ of the Museum of Life… and experience joy. Singing. Dancing. Playing. Weeping. Holding on. Letting go.

Spend an evening with our ‘highly trained’ Museum caretakers as they guide you through the Museum’s archive, gathering stories, memories and moments, and making the invisible visible.

Together, we’ll share the joys and pains of ageing, from cradle to grave.

The Museum of Life is a co-created exploration of how loss shapes us and how joy persists. This is theatre as a shared act of remembering.

What matters enough to carry with you? What will you leave behind? What will you celebrate?

This is a relaxed, work-in-progress sharing. We invite you to be part of the creative process, to watch, reflect, and be part of a conversation afterwards to help shape what the show becomes.

See you at the Museum.

Please note: this ‘tour’ is a seated theatre performance rather than a promenade experience.

About Brighton People’s Theatre

We are a theatre company that brings people together to be part of something bigger than themselves. Founded in 2015, we co-create theatre with local people; everyone you see performing in The Museum of Life is a non-professional, and most have never done theatre before joining BPT. We welcome anyone over 18 with a BN postcode, especially those who have had the fewest opportunities to access arts and culture.

We listen to stories, explore them in workshops, and co-create ambitious shows where performers and audiences alike feel part of something bigger. We are an Associate Company at ACCA (University of Sussex) and Brighton Dome and Festival. We collaborate with community teams and local businesses to reach people from all walks of life. We believe theatre should be accessible, inclusive, and for everyone.
