burning mugwort is the dream of knowing the land around us, knowing our bodies like the land, the land as our body. it is the reality of teaching ourselves and each other what herbs will help us with our specific ails, how to gather them (in person or online) and turn them into potent medicine. it's the fantasy of building webs of care, made real with patience & innovative technology (like how could we adapt a recipe for a person? a recipe for the equipment we have?) it is patience and hope and resilience and being with that pain to understand the cause of it, moving towards it to do something to ease it. it is collective discovery & slow-growing tendrils, a responsibility held wide between us.
A Burning Mugwort event about creating our own healing. Expect fantastic accessibility considerations (inflatable beds, HEPA filters, FFP2 or better masking protocol), queered grassroots herbalism, and a hopeful orientation towards collective care. Please have tested negative for COVID in the past day, or be prepared to take a test before entering the building. If you have viral symptoms, we love you, and please don’t come! Fundraising for a friend’s family in Gaza, suggested donation £5-15 but PWYC, nobody turned away for lack of funds. Bring cash for homemade medicines we’ll be selling to fundraise too (£5-£20), anything you need to be comfy, and reflections on ways we create our own healing. https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/burningmugwort
